Aiming to sharpen the skills of small/medium business and startups, GEW is the world's largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch and support startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare. The flagship event takes place one week each November and across 160 countries worldwide.

In Africa, this year, 14 countries are conducting GEW in parallel. As the 2016 Winner of the Microsoft Egypt Partner of the Year and a leader in the SME4Arfica initiative on local and regional basis, LINK Development will be hosting the event in Egypt this round.

Held for one week, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm daily, LINK Development welcomes free online registration of SMEs and startups to attend the training they need.

During GEW, attending SMEs and startups will have the opportunity to meet experts and thought leaders who will provide practical knowledge and best practices that will help entrepreneurs sharpen their skills in finance, marketing and PR, skills and information and technology.

Sylvana Mounir, Digital Services, General Manager, LINK Development said: "The Egyptian new digital economy will largely depend on the success of SMEs and startups. Leading institutions, such as ALEXBANK and Eitesal, are working vigorously to boost the entrepreneurship spirit across the country. We, at LINK Development, are strategically focusing on SME enablement through technology. It's time to join hands and unify efforts towards building a strong SME ecosystem."

ALEXBANK, one of Egypt's leading private sector banks, is pioneering the banking sector in developing specialized banking programs and tools for SMEs. Recently the bank has partnered with LINK Development to create a cost-efficient digital transformation kit, on top of Microsoft Azure Cloud, to assist rising SME players in their journeys.

Eitesal, a private sector NGO, is championing multiple initiatives towards the development, promotion and transformation of the Egyptian ICTE industry with focus on spreading the entrepreneurship culture and helping SMEs to take the ICT lead nation-wide.

"We are very proud to undertake the event and progressing our joint Business4Africa vision with Microsoft with the collaboration of Thinkroom Consulting" added Sylvana.

GEW Egypt's first day will discuss how to create an idea that drives business transformation. The second will focus on improving day-to-day productivity. Third day will discuss the art of business interaction. The training will also tackle the essentials of Marketing and PR in day four and conclude, in day five, with best-practices in finance and budgeting.
